Azemmour
Located on Morocco's Atlantic coast, the town, which means "Olive Tree" in Berber, invites you to discover its beautiful beaches, including the large El Haouzia beach renowned for surfing and kitesurfing, as well as its many monuments.
Arrive at Casablanca airport, collect your vehicle and transfer to Azemmour. Azemmour is a very picturesque town. The ramparts and bastions of the medina are still in perfect condition, and the ancient town, perched on a cliff, dominates the estuary of the Oum er Rbia wadi. A long sandy beach, El Haouzia, awaits you to the north of the town.

Day 2
Azemmour - Oualidia (about 1h30)
Ouladidia beach
You drive south along the coast. An obligatory stop in El Jadida, the former Mazagan, the city fortified by the Portuguese in the early 16th century. Its grandiose cisterns, sea-facing ramparts that invite you to take a stroll, impressive gates and highly original urban planning all remain. Even the modern town is attractive, with its beautiful ocean views, lively markets and strolling corniche. Don’t hesitate to take the coastal road, much more picturesque and less crowded. Stop for a swim before arriving in Oualidia, another of Morocco’s great seaside spots. Seafood tasting obligatory for seafood lovers.
Night in a waterfront guesthouse in Oualidia.
Day 3
Oualidia - Essaouira (about 3h30)
Safi
You continue to follow the coast. Beach follows beach. In Safi, a major industrial port, you can still admire Kelcha, the former stronghold built by the Portuguese. The coast becomes steeper. Stop at Kasbah Hamidouch, a citadel built by Moulay Ismaïl at the mouth of Oued Tenseft in the 17th century.
Arrival in Essaouira in the afternoon. Settle into your Riad in the heart of Essaouira’s medina. A private Riad with top-quality facilities, run by a Franco-Moroccan couple who will offer you a particularly warm welcome and good advice for your stay in Essaouira.
Night in the Riad in Essaouira.
Day 4
Essaouira
Essaouira beach
A day to discover Essaouira. The former Mogador is a magnificent and unique city. Here, the West meets the East like nowhere else in Morocco. The city, nestled within its pink ramparts, faces the ocean. It has become a charming place to stay, offering travellers a true art of living: lively streets, terraced restaurants, the beach, strolls along the ramparts… You won’t have long to spend touring the ramparts and arcaded streets. Visit the souk, the port and sit down to a fish dinner on a restaurant terrace.

Hassani mosque in Casablanca
You head back north towards Marrakech. If you left early, you’ll have time for a short stopover in the Pink City… A freeway links Essaouira to Casablanca in 2 hours. Don’t miss the Art Deco quarters of the city center and the Hassan II mosque on the seafront.
